How to collaborate with us

Sámi allaskuvla - Sámi University of Applied Sciences aims to develop indigenous education through cooperation across academic, institutional and national boundaries. Our main goal is to enhance the quality of indigenous research, education and innovation through long-term strategic partnerships with world-leading universities and active participation in international university networks. Sámi allaskuvla are accredited by the World Indigenous Nations Higher Education Consortium(WINHEC), we actively participates in the University of the Arctic(UArctic) and the World Indigenous Nations University.

Research collaboration

At Sámi allaskuvla, research collaboration with international partners is initiated at the department or research group level, and is based on mutual interest between the specific partners and our researchers. Potential partners need to identify and get in contact with relevant researchers or research groups at Sámi allaskuvla directly in order to discuss possible collaboration.

Short term stays for individual researchers are organised at the department level. In most cases, visits and short term stays take place in the context of existing research projects. For other individual short term stays the visiting researcher needs to secure an invitation from a specific host department. The stay should be planned well ahead to ensure its success and mutual benefit. You may find contact information for our individual researchers and experts here.

Student Exchange

Sámi allaskuvla continuously work towards enhancing internationalisation and education quality in our study programs through strong educational partnerships and participation in mobility programs.

Sámi allaskuvla has exchange agreements with several universities around the world, and we are participating in the Erasmus+, North 2 North(N2N) and Barents+ exchange programs. Student exchange agreements are based on mutual academic interest in cooperation between our own and the cooperating institution’s faculties and departments. For more information about scholarships for exchange for students, please get in touch with the international office at your home university.

There is a strong focus on building relationships with Indigenous partners through especially within our networks WINHEC and UArctic, but also with other relevant partners. Agreements are based on mutual interest in cooperation between our own and the cooperating institution’s researchers and departments. Universities which are interested in setting up an exchange agreement with us must contact the relevant department directly.

If your students want to come to Sámi allaskuvla on exchange, please check out our webpage, or get in touch with oahppohalddahus@samas.no

Staff mobility

If your university already has an Erasmus+ agreement with us, or is a part of either the N2N or Barents+, you may be particularly interested in exploring the possibilities for coming on exchange. Universities which are interested in setting up an exchange agreement with us, or staff that want to come on exchange, must contact the relevant department directly. For more information about scholarships for exchange for staff, please get in touch with the international office at your home university.
